GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport men's basketball team will partake in the Saint Xavier Midwest Tournament in Chicago, Ill., this week. Davenport will start the tournament on Sunday against host 15th ranked Saint Xavier (Ill.) before they face 11th ranked Saint Ambrose (Iowa) on Tuesday. The event will wrap up on Wednesday afternoon when they face on of the other teams in the field: Marian (Ind.), Cincinnati Christian or Lourdes.

The Bees are outrebounded by a slim 0.4 margin, while they grab 35.1 rebounds per game.
The Rest of the FieldAfter the Panthers face No. 15 Saint Xavier (Ill.) and No. 11 Saint Ambrose (Iowa), they will face one more opponent in the field that consists of Marian (Ind.), WHAC foe Lourdes (Ohio), and Cincinnati Christian. Marian enters the tournament with a 7-4 record and is 0-2 in the Crossroads League. Dion Smith has led the Knights with 16.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds a game. Lourdes is 9-3 on the season and is one game behind Davenport in the WHAC with a 5-2 conference record. The Gray Wolves have had a balanced offensive attack this season with three different players averaging double-figure this season. Cincinnati Christian is 9-5 on the season, and they will open up conference play at the start of 2015.
