Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Davenport division one hockey team defeated Eastern Michigan 6-2 Saturday night in game two of their home-and-home weekend series. Six different Panthers found the back of the net for Davenport, as they improve to 11-5-1-3 on the season. The Panthers will be back in action at the Patterson Ice Center tomorrow night as they host Adrian for the second time this season.

The game started off with a lot of scoring action early as
Mike Gessler scored his first goal of the season to put the Panthers up 1-0 just 1:47 into the game. Eastern Michigan answered quickly with a Jon Farkas goal, but
Kevin Noble put the Panthers back on top with his first goal of the season as well.

Jordan Simmonds contributed to the scoring Davenport scoring party as he sent the Panthers into the first intermission with a 3-1 lead.

The two teams exchanged goals in the second period, with
Kody Polin scoring at the 15:27 mark with the assists coming from Simmonds and
Chris Eckler.
Zack Blumke was the third Panther on the night to score his first goal of the season, with his coming just .5 seconds before the end of the second period.

Mason Bohlinger scored the lone goal of the third period, which put the Eagles away for good.

Clayton Brown saw the action between the net for Davenport, notching 32 saves on 34 shots on goal.

The Panthers (11-5-1-3) will stay home to host Adrian tomorrow night, in the fourth meeting between the two teams so far on the season. The puck is scheduled to drop at 6:30 p.m.
