NAIA DII Top-25 Poll
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport Men's Basketball team will play its final road game of the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Ann Arbor to face Concordia University. The Panthers won the first meeting between the two schools back on January 8 when
JaVontae Ford and
Dominez Burnett combined for 50 points in an 81-75 victory.

Scouting Concordia – 11-15, 8-10 WHAC – Head coach Ricky Yahn (1st Year)
First year head coach Ricky Yahn has a very experienced group led by senior sharp-shooter John Schaeffer who is leading the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game. Just behind him is fellow guard Josh Fugate at 14.3 points and together the duo has connected on 139 triples on the season. As a team, CUAA averages 70.1 points per game while giving up 73.9. The Cardinals rank 24th in the NAIA in 3-pointers made (197) while Schaeffer is 5th at 82 made on the season.
Last Meeting vs. Concordia
Davenport and Concordia played a tightly contested game the first time around back on January 8 but the Panthers prevailed 81-75 at home.
Dominez Burnett and
JaVontae Ford combined for 50 points in the victory as the Panthers overcame a 5-point halftime deficit.
History Against Concordia
Concordia won the first nine meetings in the series but since head coach
Burt Paddock has been at DU, the Panthers are 9-2. The Cardinals were able to win at DU in 2010-11 and then also posted a win in Ann Arbor last season, but overall the Paddock-led Panthers have dominated.
A Game Featuring the 3-Point Shot
Wednesday's matchup between DU and Concordia will feature three of the top seven 3-point shooters in the conference. John Schaeffer is No. 2 at 41.8% while Josh Fugate is No. 5 at 37.7% and DU's
JaVontae Ford is No. 7 at 37.2%.
