Cheer Team Downs Oklahoma City 28-24 to Advance in STUNT Nationals


OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Davenport cheer team started the STUNT National Championships on Friday in a match against last year's STUNT National Runner-up, Oklahoma City University. The Panthers started with a dominant first quarter going undefeated, en route to a 28-24 win over the Stars. Next up for Davenport is last year's National Champion and first seed Central Oklahoma at Noon EST in Oklahoma City, Okla.
 
Davenport started the STUNT National Championships as the second seed and faced third seed Oklahoma City. The Stars came into the tournament looking to improve on their runner-up finish from last season. However, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead going undefeated in the first quarter and led 15-11 at halftime.
 
DU continued to hold off an Oklahoma City comeback as the as the Panthers won game 28-24 to advance in the bracket. Davenport is now 4-0 on the season in STUNT games this season.
  
The Panthers will take on number one seed and defending National Champion, Central Oklahoma, at Noon EST on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
