No. 4 Ashford and #RV Mobile up Next for No. 21 Men’s Soccer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The tough early season schedule for the men's soccer team continues this weekend when No. 21 Davenport travels to Rio Grande (Ohio) to participate in the RedStorm Classic. Friday's matchup will feature the Panthers against No. 4 Ashford University followed by a Saturday contest against #RV University of Mobile.

The Saints enter the week ranked No. 4 in the NAIA Top-25 poll and are one of two teams to receive first place votes. Ashford, under the direction of head coach Richard Markham, are 2-0 on the season with wins over #8 Baker and #19 Midland. Leading the Saints in scoring through two matches is Adam Wood who has three points (1 goal and 1 assist). In net, the Saints have been paced by Chris Higgins who has not allowed a goal in 180 minutes.

The Rams have been one of the most consistent programs in the country over the past decade and this year is no different as they are 1-0-1 under head coach Daniel Whelan who is in his first year at the helm. Mobile has started the year with a win over Columbia College while they drew with Houston-Victoria.
