GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport men's rugby team will have heir home opener this Saturday as they square off against Western Ontario. The Panthers are currently 2-0 on the season, and look to continue their winning ways with a rematch against the Mustangs. The two teams played each other just last Saturday, where the Panthers walked away victorious with a 44-19 win.

The Mustangs and Panthers have become pretty familiar with one another over the past two years, for this is the third time they will have seen one another. The Panthers are 2-0 against the Mustangs, as they defeated them 44-19 last week, and 36-7 last season. Western Ontario went 6-1 in the OUA last season, and made it all the way to the league finals before falling to Queens 40-10. The Mustangs are 1-1 on the season, coming off a staggering 82-3 victory against Toronto this past Wednesday.
 
The Last Match vs. Western Ontario
 
In the last match between Davenport and Western Ontario, the Panthers came out on top with a comfortable 44-19 victory. The game was a 90-minute junior varsity and varsity combined match, where a lot of players on both teams saw a handful of minutes. Four different Panthers recorded tries in the match, with Onyeukwu Onwukanjo tallying two of them.
 
The Mustangs certainly have revenge on their minds, as they make their way south to the states to face off against the Panthers on Saturday. The game is at 3 p.m. on the Turf Field.
