RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The men's soccer team has faced three ranked opponents thus far in 2014 and after a 3-1 win over No. 4 Ashford, the Panthers' record remains perfect. Davenport got goals from TJ Ifaturoti, Tyler Fischer and Dino Duratovic as DU will now turn their attention to the University of Mobile who comes into Saturday's 4 p.m. contest receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 poll.

Making their first appearance at the RedStorm Classic hosted by the University of Rio Grande (Ohio), head coach Chris Hughes and his team took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a late goal from sophomore TJ Ifaturoti. Ashford had threatened early but had a shot hit the cross bar and DU took advantage late to go into the break leading by a single goal.

After the Saints, who came into the match as the only other team in the NAIA other than Martin Methodist to receive a first-place vote, tied the match, DU responded in a big way when senior Tyler Fischer scored his first of the season which was followed by a goal from Dino Duratovic to put the Panthers up 3-1.

The defense then held strong to preserve DU's second straight upset of a Top-5 ranked opponent. The Panthers held a 9-6 advantage in shots on goal despite trailing in total shots 21-18.

The Panthers will now face another perennial NAIA power on Saturday when they meet the University of Mobile at 4 p.m. EST.
