ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Davenport women's basketball team rounded out their three game road trip to start 2015 in Ann Arbor, Mich., in Saturday afternoon against Concordia.
Daina Grazulis led Davenport with 18 points in the game and had seven rebounds, while
Kayleigh VanKeulen chipped in with ten points. Davenport will return home on Wednesday night when they face Lourdes at the DU Student Center at 5:30 p.m.
Daina Grazulis led the Panther offensive attack with 18 points and was 5-for-9 from the field, while she also grabbed seven boards in the game.
Momo Neal lead the Panthers with eight rebounds off the bench, while Kayleigh VanKuelen chipped in with ten points for DU.
The Lady Panthers were able to start the game on a 20-4 run in the first 11:49 of the game after
Sara Clancy was able to finish off a layup in transition. The Davenport defense suffocated Concordia as they allowed only 11 points in the half, which sets a new season best for the Panthers after they allowed just 13 points against Lawrence Tech on Wednesday. Davenport held Concordia to just 15.2 percent from the field in the half as the Panthers led 32-11 at the break.
Davenport came out strong in the second half as they started on an 11-0 run to jump out to a 43-11 lead with 16:36 left in the half. The Panthers offense stayed strong throughout the second half as they shot 67.9 percent from the field to finish the game shooting 48.4 percent. Davenport put up 51 points in the half to beat Concordia 83-45.
The Lady Panthers will now return to home on Wednesday for their first home game of 2015 against Lourdes at the DU Student Center at 5:30 p.m.
