GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After rolling past Buffalo on Thursday night, the Davenport D1 hockey team was back in action on Friday night as they face Oakland in the fourth game of the Good Luck DUck series. Davenport continued to roll as they beat Oakland 5-0 as
Clayton Brown picked up the shutout victory to move the Panthers to 14-9-1-4 on the year. Game four of the Good Luck DUck series will take place on Saturday night at the Patterson Ice Center at 5:30 p.m.

The Panthers came out strong to start the game as they were able put pressure on the Oakland net minder, and Davenport finally broke the ice on a power play goal from
Jordan Simmonds as he was able to rush up the ice and walk across the net mouth and slip it past the goalie to give Davenport a 1-0 lead 4:03 into the period. Oakland had a few power play chances late in the first period, but
Clayton Brown was able to make some big saves for the Panthers as held a 1-0 after the first period.

Davenport started out the second period the same way as the first as they were able to hold the puck in the Oakland to start the period, and just a Panther power play expired,
Aaron Beally was able to roof the puck past the Golden Grizzlies goalie to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead.
Matt Ogden was then able to increase the Panther lead to three goals as he was able sneak past the Oakland defense and capitalized on a breakaway and
Travis White capped of the scoring for Davenport in the second period with a power play goal as DU held a 4-0 lead heading into the third period.

As both teams battled back-and-forth to start the third both net minders were able to keep the puck out of the net, until
Luke McCarthy was able to fire home rebound with 6:44 left in the third period as Davenport took a 5-0 lead. The Davenport defense was able to keep Oakland at ease as Brown picked up the shutout with the 5-0 win for the Panthers.

After the game head coach
Phil Sweeney talked about winning the third game of the Good Luck DUck series, "The second period tonight was probably the best period of hockey we played all year. We dominated that 20 minutes, and I am really proud of how the guys played. It has been a good weekend of hockey so far, but we have a lot left to accomplish, and we are one win away from winning our duck back."

Davenport will look to reclaim the Good Luck DUck on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. at Patterson Ice Center as they currently hold a 2-1 series lead over Oakland.

Post-Game NotesClayton Brown made 19 saves for the Panthers to record his second shutout of the season… Davenport was able to outshoot Oakland 45-19 in the game… This is just the third time in the series between the two team where one team was shutout.
