GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After coming in second place at STUNT Nationals last season, the Davenport cheer team started their STUNT season on Sunday afternoon as they faced Alma College. After leading by just one after the first quarter, Davenport took over in the second quarter, and the Lady Panthers went on to win 17-8. The next event for DU will be a competition at Aquinas on February 1 and the next STUNT for the Panthers will be at Alma on February 8.

In a tightly contested first quarter, Davenport held a 3-2 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Panthers started to pull away from the Scots in the second quarter as Davenport outscored Alma 4-1 in the quarter to take a 7-3 lead into halftime.

The Lady Panthers continued to pull away in the second half as they took an 11-5 lead over the Scots heading into the fourth quarter. The Scots tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter, but Davenport was able to outscore Alma 6-4 in the fourth quarter to win their first STUNT game of the season 17-8.

The Lady Panther will now step of STUNT for their next event as they will travel to Aquinas for a competition in two weeks. The next STUNT game for Davenport will be on February 8 on the road against Alma.
