GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –
Tiesha Stokes had 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double in her second game since her return from injury,
Kia Frazier had eight points and five steals in 25 minutes of work as the Grand Rapids natives piloted Davenport's second-ranked women's basketball team to a 76-48 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference victory over Beltine Rivals Cornerstone Saturday afternoon.

The Panthers (20-0, 14-0 WHAC) not only kept its perfect record intact but also took a two-game lead in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference after second-place Madonna lost to host Lawrence Tech in overtime.

With 13 points on the afternoon,
Daina Grazulis extended her streak of consecutive games reaching double figures to 13.

Davenport overall shot 50.8 percent from the field and went 8-for-10 on the free throw line.

The Panthers defense held the Golden Eagles veterans Ashley Niedermayer and Jill Hendrickson to a combined 15 points. Jill Steenwyk had a dozen to lead Cornerstone (15-7, 10-4 WHAC). DU caused 23 turnovers on the Golden Eagles and held them to 34.6 percent from the floor, including a 2-for-8 attempt on the 3-point line.

Although the Golden Eagles struck first and took a 6-0 lead at the start,
Sara Clancy got the Panthers on track and back-to-back layups by Frazier evened the score with 16:09 left. Davenport jumped up 8-6 after a jumper by
Alex Law. Cornerstone played a game of cat-and-mouse with Davenport until a 6-0 run by the Panthers helped add breathing room.

Davenport built its largest lead with 1:48 when
Alex Law's deep 3-point shot put the Panthers ahead 36-19. DU went into the locker room leading the Golden Eagles 40-23. Stokes had nine points while Frazier had six points and four takeaways in 14 minutes of work.

The Panthers continue their homestand Wednesday with their other Beltline Rival Aquinas visiting the Student Center. Tipoff is at 5:30 p.m.
