GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's rugby team improved to 2-0 at home with a 37-10 win over visiting Bowling Green State University at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. DU got off quickly as
Anthony Welmers scored two minutes into the match for a 5-0 lead.
Vershawn Burke muscled his way for five points six minutes later for a 10-0 lead.
Carl Smith increased the lead to 15 in the 21-minute range.
Kevin Stachler scored two minutes later for the Panthers and
Noah Zomberg added the conversion for a 22-0 lead. Tom Devona added to the lead in the 38th minute as the rout was on for the Panthers. Billy Datullo and Game Latthaphon scored in the second half for the Panthers four minutes apart sandwiched between two tries for the Falcons.
