Women's Volleyball Splits in WHAC Tri-Match

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The DU women's volleyball team travelled to Ann Arbor for matches against WHAC foes Indiana Tech and Concordia University. The Panthers looked to get momentum in the second half of conference play with two crucial matches.

The Warriors handed the Panthers a 3-1 loss to begin their day and even their conference record at 7-7. DU overcame Indiana tech in the second set, but the Warriors were able to better the Panthers in four sets. Marcey DeHaan totaled 14 kills to lead the Panther attack and Sydney Tracer added 24 assists. Morgan Torres led the defense with 18 digs. The Panthers failed to take the lead early in their three set losses and the Warriors defused the DU attempted comebacks as they completed the season sweep of the Panthers.

The second match of the day for the Panthers was a game with host Concordia University. DU took the momentum early in the first and third sets while fighting off a stubborn Cardinal attack in set two to complete the 3-0 sweep. The second set saw the teams play to extra points with the Panthers taking the final four points of the set to overcome a late 24-22 deficit to take the set 26-24. Ashley VanderHorst hit .529 for the match and totaled 11 kills. Sami White recorded 29 assists and Torres compiled 21 digs to lead the defense. This win gives Davenport a 16-16 overall record with a 8-7 mark in WHAC play.
