LIMA, Ohio – The women's soccer team took on No. 2 University of Northwestern Ohio Wednesday afternoon in a tough road matchup with the Racers. The Panthers held strong through 32 minutes before a corner kick from UNOH resulted in a rebound goal and the Racers took the 1-0 lead.
DU continued to play strong defensively as they continually forced the Racers to shoot from outside of the box. Senior goal keeper
Tara Gessler played stout as she recorded 17 saves to keep DU within striking distance. UNOH continued to press throughout the first 45 minutes as they were able to tally two more goals before the halftime horn.
The Panthers rallied in the second half to pitch a shutout of UNOH, but were unable to find the back of the net as they fell 3-0. This loss leaves the overall record for Davenport at 3-7-1 with a 0-5 mark in the WHAC.
