Box Score DEARBORN, Mich. - The Davenport men's Division I hockey team improved to 3-0 with a 9-1 win in their GLCHL opener on Friday night. The Panthers scored three times in the first period as
Louie Abounader,
Jordan Simmonds and
Matt Ogden all scored at even strength. After a scoreless second period, DU put two more goals on the board as
Alex Hulford and Abounader gave the Panthers a 5-0 lead. UM-Dearborn broke up the shutout with a power play goal, but
Winston Hofer increased his team's lead with back-to-back power play goals.
Cameron Dimmitt added another power play goal for DU and then
Cody Walsh concluded the scoring.
Walsh also ended the game with two assists.
Travis White also had two assists as did
Michael Lozicki. UM-Dearborn actually had more shots on goal with a 50-36 advantage.
Matt Kaludis stopped 49 shots on the night for Davenport.
