DEARBORN, Mich. – The women's basketball team continued to dominant early in the season in WHAC play as they took down UM-Dearborn, 108-38.
Tiesha Stokes led the Panther attack with 17 points and nine rebounds as DU advanced to 4-2, 3-0 while they advanced their win streak to four-straight.
The Wolverines scored the first two points of the game, but that would be the only lead they held. DU followed this early deficit by scoring the next 25 points as they went on to carry a 25-4 lead following the first quarter. Stokes would lead DU with six points while eight different Panthers scored to give DU their commanding 22-point lead.
Lauren Brower gave the Panthers their initial spark as she knocked down a three-point shot on a
Chri Carter assist to give DU a 3-2 lead and the Panthers never looked back.
The Panthers would carry this momentum to their 70-point victory and allowing the fewest points in a game this season. DU spread the wealth of their scoring as five players reached double figures in scoring.
Alex Law added 12 points,Brower tallied 13,
Hannah Wilkerson scored 11, and
Michaela Faber totaled 10. The Panthers continued to dominate on the glass as they out rebounded the Wolverines 57-23, including 22 offensive rebounds. DU would turn these rebounds into 21 second chance points while they also totaled 64 points in the paint.
Amanda Merz led the Panthers with a career-high 10 rebounds.Â
The Panthers will not play the remainder of the week before they take on No. 21 Madonna University on November 24.Â
