The Panthers are now 7-0 and 3-0 on the road

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The back-to-back games for the Davenport men's basketball team did not seem to faze them as they went to UW-Platteville and defeated the Pioneers by a score of 73-61. The Panthers remain unbeaten at 7-0 and for the first time this season were led in scoring by someone not named Dominez Burnett. Wayne Bradford had a season-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting and also grabbed five rebounds in 31 minutes. Burnett did not have his normal scoring touch in the first half but still finished with 20 points including 9-of-12 at the free throw line. He did grab a season-high nine rebounds and dished out three assists in 33 minutes.

The game went back-and-forth in the first 10 minutes as the teams were tied 11-11. The Panthers would take a lead only to see the Pioneers come right back. The last 3:43 belonged to Davenport as they ended the first half on a 9-0 run for a 32-23 lead at the break. DU attacked the basket with 20 points in the paint compared to 10 for UWP.

Davenport built a 13-point lead on two different occasions early in the second half but UWP would not go away. The Pioneers used a 13-4 run to cut the deficit to 45-41 with 11:56 remaining. DU stepped it up responding with a 6-0 spurt to regain a double-digit lead with 9:36 left. The Warriors would not truly threaten the rest of the way as the Panthers hit 5-of-6 from the foul line in the last 2:06.
