GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - It was an offensive onslaught on Saturday as 15 goals were scored in a 9-6 win for the Panthers over Northwood at Patterson Ice Center. Davenport (5-6) swept the weekend series against the Timberwolves and did so with a season-high in goals.
Bailey Rietman scored a hat trick for the Panthers and also added an assist. He scored on the power play at 7:35 of the first and added another less than two minutes later. He also scored the team's eighth goal at 15:30 of the third on the power play and assisted on the team's final goal scored by
Jordan Crawford at 19:39 of the third.
Zach Schwandt and
Nick Scott both scored short-handed in the first 3:12 of the game for an early advantage.
Jordan Crawford had the first of his three assists on Scott's goal.
Jonathan Gilbert also scored in the first for DU who led 5-2 after 20 minutes.
Schwandt's second of the game at 15:22 of the second was the Panthers lone goal of the period and it was 6-4 after 40 minutes. Scott scored his second of the game at 3:26 of the third from
Jacob Blok.
Skyler Emelander finished with a pair of assists.
Isaac Lippert also had two assists for DU.
Kelton Maskell got his first start of the season in net and made 36 saves in the win.
