GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport men's basketball team will conclude their 2014-15 at home against Marygrove on Saturday. Prior to the game, the men's basketball team will honor their senior class as they make their final regular season appearance at the DU Student Center. Tipoff between Davenport and Marygrove is slated for 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon as Rick Berkey will have the call live on the DAN.

A Quick Look at Marygrove – 3-26, 1-20 WHAC – Head Coach Craig Covington
Marygrove enters the final game of the 2014-15 regular season with a 3-26 overall record and are 1-20 in the WHAC with their only win coming on the road against Lawrence Tech. The Mustangs have lost their last 16 games entering this weekend. Darryll Dixon leads Marygrove in scoring with 20.4 points per game, while Diante Taylor has chipped in 14.8 points a game as the Mustangs score an average of 72.3 points per game as a team Jujuan Armstrong is the leading rebounder on the team as he grabs 6.9 boards per game to lead the team.
 
Panthers vs. Mustangs
In the all-time series between Davenport and Marygrove, both teams have won seven games apiece in the 14 games played all-time between the two programs. The Mustangs were able to win the first seven games against the Panthers in the series, but since Burt Paddock took over as head coach at Davenport, the Panthers have won the last seven to tie the all-time series.
 
The Last Time against the Mustangs
In the last meeting between Davenport and Marygrove, both teams battled back-and-forth and the Mustangs took their largest lead of the game at 26-19 with 6:52 left in the first half. The Panthers were able to battle back in the first half, but Marygrove took a 38-36 lead in the half. After the second half started the same way as the first, Davenport finally found their groove and went on a 19-0 run to take a 64-49 lead with 11:14 left in regulation. Davenport continued to pull away they won the game 94-71. The Panthers scored 58 point in the second half, while they shot 65.6 percent from the field in the second half to finish the game shooting 56.3 percent. Dominez Burnett led all scorers with 23 points and had ten rebounds, while Bishop Robinson had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the game.
