Box Score BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – For the third straight season, the Davenport D1 hockey team faced Adrian in the GLCHL Championship.
Kody Polin and
Everett Thompson scored for the Panthers, but Davenport fell, 4-2 in the title game. Davenport dropped to 24-11-1-4 on the season and will now head into the National Tournament where they will face Villanova in the Opening Round of the National Tournament on March 5th in Strongsville, Ohio at 11 a.m.

In the first period, Adrian was able to take control of the game in the early going, and they started the scoring in the game with 12:53 left in the first period on a power play goal. The Bulldogs were able to control the remainder of the period and they scored one more goal in the period to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.

Davenport started to turn the tables in the second period, but they were unable to score until
Kody Polin capitalized on power play chance with 4:45 left in the period. However, the Bulldogs came right back and scored less than a minute later to retake a two-goal lead. Davenport trailed 3-1 heading into the third period.

Adrian was able to take a 4-1 lead with 14:08 left in the third period, and the Panthers tried had a few power play chances in the third period to try and start their comeback, but they were unable to do so until
Everett Thompson was able to score of the faceoff with 6:30 left in the third period, but the Davenport could not get any closer as they lost to Adrian 4-2.

Davenport will now head to in the ACHA National Tournament on March 5th were they face Villanova in first game of the tournament at 11 a.m. in Strongsville, Ohio.
