GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After beating crosstown rival Aquinas in the WHAC Semifinals on Saturday, the Davenport men's basketball team will welcome the their second crosstown rival in as many days as they host Cornerstone in WHAC Championship game. This will be the second straight season that Davenport and Cornerstone will play for the WHAC Tournament crown. Tipoff between Davenport and Cornerstone is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the DU Student Center, where

Live Stats/Video/Audio A Quick Look at Cornerstone – 27-5, 19-3 WHAC – Head Coach Kim EldersCornerstone comes into their second consecutive WHAC Championship game after they defeated Lourdes in the quarterfinals and traveled to Northwestern Ohio in the semifinals, where they beat the Racers 95-85. This season WHAC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-WHAC selection, Kyle Steigenga, has led the Golden Eagles this season with 20.8 points per game, while fellow first team selection Ben Lanning has chipped in with 16 points a game in 20 appearances this season.
Panthers vs. Golden EaglesIn the all-time series between Davenport and Cornerstone, the Golden Eagles lead the all-time series winning 16 of 26 total meetings. This season, the Panthers and Golden Eagles have split the regular season series with each team winning at their home court. This will be the second straight season that Davenport and Cornerstone will meet in the WHAC Championship.
The Last Time Against the Golden Eagles In the last meeting between Davenport and Cornerstone, both teams were ranked in the top-10 of the NAIA DII polls. In the Battle of the Beltline, Davenport and Cornerstone battle back-and-forth as the score was tied six times throughout the first half and the score changed hands five different times, as the Golden Eagles took a 34-30 lead in the first half. In the second half, Cornerstone led for most of the half, but Davenport took the lead for good with 3:55 left in the second half. The Panthers were able to hang on to the lead the rest of the game as they beat Cornerstone, 78-72.
Dominez Burnett led all scorers in the game with 24 points and had nine rebounds.
Kevin Rich recorded his first career double-double scoring 15 points and ten rebounds.
