GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport women's lacrosse team started their four game road stretch on Wednesday night as they traveled down the Beltline to face crosstown rival Aquinas.
Jessica Lemcke and
Kaitlyn Lowden each tallied five goals to lead the Panthers to a, 16-5, victory over the Saints. Davenport will hit the road this weekend, as they travel to Georgetown, Ky., to face Asbury (Ky.), Georgetown (Ky.) and SCAD (Ga.).

Lowden recorded her third five goal performance this season, as she also tallied a pair of assists against Aquinas, while Lemcke had five goals in a game for the first time this season.
Bridget Zuidgeest scored a pair of goals for the Panthers, while;
Sara Kuzava,
Brooke Knoll,
Taylor Balch and
Tara Pluger all recorded goals for Davenport.

The game started as defensive battle between both team for the first 9:31 of the game, until Lowden got the Panthers on the board with 21:29 left in the half. Davenport then took control of the game as they went on an 8-0 run over a span of 7:13 as they took a 9-0 lead. Aquinas stopped the Panther run as they scored their first goal of the game with 7:38 left in the first half, but Pluger and Lemcke scored for Davenport in the final two minutes of the half, as the Panthers took an 11-1 lead into the half.

Lowden got the scoring started for the Panthers just 20 seconds in the half as she scored her final goal of the game, while Lemcke was able to give Davenport a 13-1 lead with 27:00 to go in the game. Aquinas outscored the Panthers, 4-3, the rest of game, but Davenport was able to beat Aquinas, 16-5.

The Panthers will be back in action on Friday evening as they face Asbury (Ky.) at 5 p.m. in Georgetown, Ky., to start their three game in three day stretch down in Kentucky.
