WEST POINT, N.Y. –
Gabe Sochanek had two tries,
Brady Gent had a score and four conversion kicks, while five other Panthers recorded tries en route to a 50-24 blowout victory over no. 5 Army Saturday afternoon in the D1A quarterfinal action in West Point, N.Y. The Panthers will now clash with defending national champions Saint Mary's College next Saturday with a kickoff time yet to be determined.

Army was able to get on the board first with a try just 4:30 into the first half, but it was all Panthers for the remainder of the 35 minutes as
Reece Czarnecki,
Vershawn Burke,
Gabe Sochanek, and
Willy Urena all recorded back-to-back tries give the Panthers a demanding 22-7 lead heading into halftime.

Six minutes into the second half, Sochanek was able to score his second try of the game, increasing the Panther lead to 31-7. Army would then go on a run of their own, scoring 17 unanswered to cut the Davenport lead to 31-24 with 26 minutes remaining in regulation.

The Panthers defense would buckle down, keeping the Black Knights scoreless for the remainder of contest. Mike Houston,
Brady Gent, and
Dominique Bailey would all record consecutive tries to close out the 50-24 Panther blowout, with Gent converting three of the four conversions in the second half.

All four of the top top-seeded teams in the D1A rankings remain with the semi-finals coming up next weekend, as the Panthers will travel to Moraga, Calif. next Saturday to take on number two seeded Saint Mary's College. On the other side of the bracket, no. 4 Lindenwood will take on fellow mid-south rival and number one seed Life University.
