The Panthers

The Panthers come into this semi-finals matchup on a three game winning streak, starting with a 26-7 victory over Mid-South rival Lindenwood, and opened the D1A tournament with a 38-8 beat down over Wheeling Jesuit, and a 50-24 victory over no. 5 Army. The Panthers will once again be without senior captain Angus MacLellan, who is currently on tour in South America with the USA Rugby Selects.

The Matchup

This will be the first time Davenport and Saint Mary's square off against one another in both program's history, as the defending champion Gaels look to advance to their third consecutive D1A national championship game. Saint Mary's defeated Utah in the quarter-finals 72-6, after earning a first round bye with their no. 2 overall seed.

The winner of Saturday's contest will meet the winner of the Mid-South semi-final matchup between no. 1 Life and no. 4 Lindenwood at Fifth Third Bank Stadium at Kennesaw State University.
