ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Panthers opened up their weekend at the Red Raider Classic Friday with a pair of 3-1 wins. The Panthers first overcame a 1-0 deficit after set one against Morningside to take the match 3-1. Davenport completed the sweep with a 3-1 win in their second match over Jamestown College as they advanced to 3-3 on the season.
The Panthers opened their first match on Friday against Morningside with a 25-19 set loss. Davenport would bounce back to take the next three sets led by
Molly Lameyer as she recorded 11 kills while hitting .304.
Marcey DeHaan added 13 kills while
Sami White contributed with 34 assists. The Panthers saw their defense respond with stout play on their way to the comeback win with three players recording double digit dig totals.
Match two saw the Panthers jump out with a 25-15 victory in set one that propelled them to another 3-1 victory.
Krissy Dill recorded 17 kills on a .471 hitting percentage to lead the offence while Dill also contributed with 13 digs to lead the defense. White contributed with 44 assists as the Panthers evened their record at 3-3 on the season.
