GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Panthers took on Indiana Wesleyan University Saturday night in their final non-conference matchup of 2015. The visiting Wildcats controlled the play throughout the first 45 minutes as they tallied five shots on goal while the Panthers were not able to find the net. Davenport responded in the second half as they seized their opportunities and scored on each of their scoring opportunities.
Katherine Steiner broke open the game in the 52
nd minute as she finished a ball to the far post from
Holley Tripp. Steiner then secured the lead for DU as she tallied her second of the game in the 59
th minute on an assist from
Nea-Stina Liljedahl.
Davenport secured their win, 2-0, on a stout performance in goal from
Tara Gessler as she earned the victory and recorded the shutout with six saves.
