Box Score CLINTON, Iowa - The men's soccer team picked up a victory on Saturday afternoon against No. 15 Ashford by the final of 3-2. It was the first win of the season for the Panthers who stand at 1-1-1.

The Panthers, defending national champions, built a 3-0 lead in the contest and were ahead 1-0 at intermission. Cam Cavanagh got DU on the board in the 28th minute with an assist from Jake Love. T.J. Ifaturoti then scored the next two goals for the Panthers to build a three-goal cushion. He scored from Jordan Van Oostenbrugge and Kevin LaCroix in the 52nd minute and again in the 71st minute from Love.

Ashford did not go quietly as they got back into the match in the 77th minute as Adam Wood scored unassisted. Tim Krautheim then scored on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to make things interesting. Davenport held off Ashford and sealed the win in a hotly-contested match.

Each team had eight shots total with five shots on goal for the Panthers. Aaron Orban made three saves in net to earn the win.
