Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The No. 6 Panthers remained hot Friday night as they improved their winning streak to 12 games and improved their overall record to 21-2-0-1. DU met Oakland University in a GLCHL matchup and used a five-goal second period to run away with an 11-2 win.
The Good Luck Duck Series between Davenport and Oakland started with Davenport scoring a quick goal by Alex Hulford,on an assists by Chris Eckler and Travis White just 1:14 into the game. Davenport continued the offensive pressure when Cameron Dimmitt scored a second goal for the Panthers with the help of Aaron Beally and Everett Thompson at8:44. Davenport then concluded the first period with a last minute goal from Dimmitt assisted by Luke McCarthy and Cody Walsh with just 31 second remaining in the period to take a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
Oakland opened the second period with a goal by Drew Parus and assisted by Ioan Florea and Tom Kilgore to cut the DU lead to 3-1. After the OU goal the Panthers took the wheel in the second and third period scoring eight more goals to run away with the game. Matt Ogden and Everett Thompson each scored a pair of goals while Dimmitt completed his hat trick on a power play goal from Aaron Beally and Louie Abounader. Seven different Panthers would score in the game as DU improved to 12-1 in the GLCHL.
