BYRON CENTER, Mich. - The women's hockey team traveled to Southside Ice Arena on Saturday for a 5-1 win over Aquinas to improve to 6-11-1 overall.
The Panthers outshot the Saints, 38-19, including 13-1 in the third period of action.
Dawn Salo picked up the win in net making 18 saves and is now 4-4 this season. The Panthers went 1-for-4 on the power play and committed seven minor penalties for 14 minutes.
Ashley Reese scored the only goal in the first period at 4:31 with an assist from
Adrienne Porcalla. DU scored three times in the second period as
Lexie Boydston scored the first of her two goals at 9:11 from
Katie Dubro. Katelyn Graczyk scored for Aquinas at 12:04 to make it 2-1.
Emily Ellis scored at 14:57 from
Jenny Deane. Boydston's second goal at 19:57 from
Megan Martin made it 4-1 after 40 minutes.
Porcalla scored on the power play at 17:13 of the third period from Deane who had her second assist.Â
