EAST LANSING, Mich. – The men's Division II hockey team had a five-game win streak come to an end on Friday night at Michigan State by the final of 2-0. The Spartans scored both of their goals in the first period and Eric Matych stopped all 41 shots he faced in the shutout.

Zac Smith made 37 saves on the night but did allow goals by Joseph Hewitt (11:43) and Tyler Van Acker (17:51) in the opening period. Andrew Patzin and Jacob Peacock assisted on the first goal. Alex Fasan and Michael Yuhasz assisted on the second goal.
