Panthers Cruise to WHAC Semifinals with 6-0 win over Lawrence Tech

DU has scored 27 goals in their last four games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport men's soccer team inched closer to the WHAC Tournament championship with a 6-0 win over Lawrence Tech on Saturday night at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The first round win has now given the Panthers a 27-1 advantage in goal scoring over their last four games and propelled them into the WHAC Semifinals. The Panthers will tangle with sixth-seed Marygrove who upset third-seed Cornerstone 4-3 in double overtime. The match will take place on Wednesday, November 9 at a time to be determined.

Kevin LaCroix had a pair of goals and got things going at 6:48 on a rebound goal from eight yards out with an assist from TJ Ifatuorti. He later scored at 57:28 from Tyler Collishaw as he kicked a ball from 20 yards that was misplayed by the keeper and bounced just inside the crossbar.

Collishaw also scored a pair of goals coming at 24:17 unassisted and on a penalty kick at 72:52. He scored his 10th of the season by moving through defenders and scoring from 18 yards into the lower left corner. His 11th of the season came after he was tripped up in the box and then converted the PK inside the left post.

Davenport scored their third goal on an own goal at 51:05 and Cam Cavanagh scored at 75:08 on a beautiful setup for his seventh of the season. Emir Cengic started with a pass from right wing across to the left side where Yovany Duran headed the ball to Cavanagh. He used a half-volley kick from 20 yards to the lower left corner to make it 6-0.

Davenport took 17 shots (11 SOG) with eight different players with a shot on goal. Aaron Orban made four saves in goal for the Panthers and exited at 75:08. Lucas Ohlman played the remaining 14:52 and had one save. Lawrence Tech took nine shots (6 SOG) and Max Jewett made five saves in goal.
