SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Davenport men's basketball team completed a season sweep of Lawrence Tech on Wednesday (Feb. 10) with an 86-45 road win. The No. 1 Panthers have now won 11 in a row and improved to 24-3 overall and 18-1 in the WHAC. DU is also 12-0 on the road in 2015-16 and hold a two-game lead in the WHAC standings with three regular season games remaining.
The Panthers saw all five starters score in double figures for the first time this season. Senior
Wayne Bradford led with 15 points on 7-of-9 from the floor and also had three assists. Junior
Nick Gamble scored 14 points on 5-of-7 from the floor including 2-of-2 behind the arc. He also dished out six assists for the third time in the last four games with one turnover. Senior
Jason Jordan scored 11 points and tied
Kevin Rich with a team-high seven rebounds. Rich tossed in 10 points going 4-of-7 from the floor. Junior
John McCloud recorded 10 points and six rebounds. Freshman
Andia Marsh was the sixth player in double figures coming off the bench to score 10 points in 18 minutes.
Davenport limited the Blue Devils to 35.6 percent from the floor and allowed the second fewest points this season. Lawrence Tech shot 4-of-19 from behind the arc while the Panthers were hot going 11-of-19 (.579) for their best percentage of the season. DU went to the free throw line a season-low six times making five.Â
