Panthers Blanked 3-0 by Grand Valley State

DU has been held scoreless for three straight games

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 14th-ranked Davenport women's hockey team welcomed fourth-ranked Grand Valley State on Friday night to Patterson Ice Center for a West Michigan showdown. The Lakers shut out the Panthers 3-0 handing DU their third straight shut out and sending them to a 9-14-1 record.

"We need to find some offense," said head coach Tom Hofman. "The girls did a great job generating shots in the third period, but we need to have a player step to the plate and put the team on their back and bury a few. We also must avoid penalties. Good teams like Liberty and Grand Valley will make you pay. Two of the three goals we have gave up were power play goals. I'm sure the team is excited to get another go with them on Sunday."

The Panthers totaled 23 shots and GVSU's Lauren Allen turned them all aside. DU went 0-for-5 on the power play while the Lakers went 2-for-4. Tea Grace scored the first power play goal from Kendra Myers and Bree Tasker at 17:58 of the first period. Greca scored again at 2:06 of the second period from Stacey Mathieu. Katie Danto scored the second power play goal at 12:48 of the second period from Sally Hoerr and Corey Robison. Karley Ferguson made 26 saves on the night for the Panthers.
