BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The tough non-conference schedule continued on Saturday for the men's soccer team as the Panthers knocked off Grand View from the ranks of the unbeaten (4-1) with a 2-1 double overtime win. Davenport improved to 4-1 this season with all four of their wins coming by a 2-1 score.
Senior
Jake Love notched the first goal of his final season in the 26th minute with an assist from
Brogan Shrimpton. Davenport recorded five shots in the first half while the Vikings recorded nine and junior
Aaron Orban made three saves.
Grand View opened the second half by scoring 1:04 into it as Bruno Henrique scored on a penalty kick. It would take nearly 55 minutes later before the match would be decided and not a moment too soon. Senior All-American
TJ Ifaturoti, who led the NAIA in game-winning goals last year, scored in the 109th minute with an assist from
Jeppe Marquardsen. Ifaturoti used a header to put home the winner.
Orban had nine saves for the Panthers and improved to 3-0 in goal this season.Â
