GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Davenport finishes 2-2 for the Panther Invitational after sweeping Saint Xavier and falling to GLIAC member Ferris State. The Panther Invitiational was a learning experience for the women's volleyball team as they faced a future conference foe in Ferris State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 25-23, 25-14, 25-18
-The first set was a back and forth battle as the lead changed four different times. The Panthers scored seven of the last ten points to clinch the set win.
-The Panthers dominated the second set as they scored the last five points of the set.
Sami White and
Ashley VanderHorst assisted on a block to end the set.
-The third set saw Davenport seal the deal, as they scored eight of the last ten points to win the set and match.

Krissy Dill led the way with 12 kills as she hit .435 and tallied nine digs.
-White was the leader in assists with 24 and notched seven digs

FINAL SCORE: Davenport 1, Ferris State 3

RECORDS: Davenport 6-10 (2-3 WHAC), Ferris State 8-5 (2-1 GLIAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 28-26, 20-25, 19-25, 15-25
-The Panthers won the first set, then lost the next three to Ferris State.
-Ferris State was stunned in the first set as the Panthers came out hungry for victory. The Panthers fought and won 28-26, while scoring the last three points of the set.
-The second set saw Ferris State come back with a vengeance as they won 25-20. Ferris would score five out of the last seven points in the set.
-The Panthers fell in the third set as Ferris gained the lead early as they scored ten out of the first 14 points.
-The final set saw the Panthers on their heels as Ferris won 25-15.
-Dill registered a double double as she had 12 kills and 17 digs, she also finished with four service aces.
-White would lead the team with 17 assists,
Sydney Tracer wasn't far behind her with 16 assists.
-Davenport finished with an attacking percentage of .115
