HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride was lucky in the first half as Davenport ripped 13 shots, while only two of those were on target.
Alayna Hilgendorf recorded the game winning goal during the 19
th minute. She had missed a couple shots previously in the half and made this one count. After receiving a pass from
Alice Linsell she took a touch towards the middle of the field and powered the ball into the right side of the net. Davenport took a one goal lead into the second half and the feeling that they could break the game wide open.
Davenport broke the game open in the second half, scoring six unanswered goals. Hilgendorf got things started in the 51
st minute with a rocket from 40 yards out into the top right corner of the net. Just 129 seconds later
Ashlyn Skidmore got on the board for the third time this season and was assisted by
Imanie Richards. Skidmore scored from inside the box after controlling the cross from Richards and placing the ball into the open part of the net. On an individual effort
Madeleine Zayan score goal number four of the day for Davenport. She shot a ball hard at the keeper, the keeper saved the shot and the ball bounced back towards Zayan. After both getting to the rebounded shot at the same time Zayan overpowered the keeper and passed the ball into the empty net. For the first time this season Farrell got in on the scoring action. Just 40 seconds after checking in Farrell found herself with the ball in the box and touched the ball on the ground to the left side of the goal past the keeper. Goal number six of the game came from D. McCarty, who one timed the cross from Sydeny Vanpatten into the net on the back side of the box. The final goal of the game came from
Allison Luurtsema with a little over five minutes in the game. She took one touch after a pass from
Sabrina Stone and lofted the ball over the keeper from 20 yards out.
