YPSILANTI, Mich. – Davenport ended their small losing streak by taking care of business on the road against Eastern Michigan University. A healthy mix of goal scorers for the Panthers resulted in a 4-1 win over the Eagles. The Panthers look to continue this play over the next three away games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first period was an even battle up until minute 16.
Alex Hulford scored the initial goal of the game to give Davenport the 1-0 lead. Shortly after that
Chris Corgan scored as well to give DU a two goal lead.
Jason Rhynold stopped all seven shots sent his way and the Panthers took a two goal lead heading into period number two.
-The Eagles scored a goal just 85 seconds into the second period. Any momentum that Eastern Michigan gained from that goal was quickly erased as
Luke Formica scored 21 seconds after the Eagles to increase DU's lead back up to two goals.
Tyler Layle added a security goal later on in the second period to give Davenport a three goal lead after 40 minutes of play.
-The final period neither team scored, Rhynold had another perfect period by stopping all 14 shots on goal by the Eagles.
-Hulford, Formica, Corgan and Layle all scored one goal.
-
Joey Ogden recorded two assists.
-Rhynold played all 60 minutes in net and stopped 34 of the 35 shots by the Eagles.
UP NEXT
Davenport will next be in action at Ohio University for a mini-series. Games will be played on Friday and Saturday next weekend in Athens, Ohio.
