CALEDONIA, Mich. - The Davenport men's rugby team improved to 6-2 this fall and won for the fifth time in the last six matches with a convincing 48-5 victory over Bowling Green State. The Falcons were no match for the Panthers at Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex. The team got things going at 38:50 as Lucas Robinson converted a try for a 5-0 lead. Thomas Cheslek increased the lead and Noah Zomberg converted the kick for a 12-0 lead. Logan Mate at 12:40 added a try of his own and Zomberg's conversion made it 19-0. BGSU got on the board with 3:50 left until halftime but the conversion was missed and it was 19-5. DU scored with just 24 seconds left in the half as Robinson had his second try of the evening for a comforable 24-5 lead at the break.

The Panthers blanked the Falcons in the second half and added 24 points of their own. Zomberg had a try and conversion at 34:44 to build a 31-5 lead. Bray Erlich then finished things off with three straight trys in the last 25-plus minutes for a 48-5 final score. "Our team played a high level structured game and limited the amount of errors in a win over a strong D1 MAC Division Club team," said head coach Harry King. "The guys when it counted put points on the board even in the windy cold conditions."
