HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport got off to a sluggish start against the Leafs. The Panthers found themselves down 4-12 after Goshen hit a three pointer in transition. Head Coach Burt Paddock took a 30-second timeout and the momentum shifted the Panthers way immediately after. Over the next seven minutes and six seconds Davenport scored 18 unanswered points to take a 22-12 lead. The run was capped off by a three ball in transition by Robbie Bramhill, assisted by Hudson. Goshen fought back over the next couple minutes, cutting the Panther lead down to five points with just under three and a half minutes to play. The panthers ended the half on a 11-2 run to take a 14-point lead heading into the half.

The start of the second half was up and down for the opening four minutes of play. During that stretch Davenport increased their lead to 20 points after a three point make by Braima Hai. The Panthers continued to put their foot on the gas as their lead increased to 30 points with 13:03 left in the game. Davenport remained in control for the remainder of the game, leading by at least 25 points for the final 14 minutes of the game.

The Panthers had seven players score in double digits for the game. Smith led the way with 20 points on 8/13 from the field and Wes Webbert was not far behind him with 15 points of his own. Bramhill scored 14 points and shot 4/6 from deep, while McCloud Jr., Orlando Little and Hudson each chipped in 12 points. Hai scored 10 points, dished out six assists, had four steals, and grabbed four rebounds.

Hudson was one steal away from tying a single game individual record at DU. He recorded eight steals on the night and is only the third player in program history to record eight or more steals in one game. He also chipped in four rebounds and added six assists.

Davenport hit 17 straight free throws to open the game and went 23/29 for the game to shoot 79% as a team. Janeau Joubert, Bramhill, Hudson and Zack Nieuwkoop all went perfect from the free throw line during the game.
