GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport hosted the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University and defended their home ice in exciting fashion. The Panthers scored seven unanswered goals to open the game and held Eastern Michigan scoreless for 58 minutes of the game. This is the third win of five goals or more for Davenport this season.
Luke Cowan led the way in scoring with two goals on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Everett Thompson got the scoring bonanza started for DU with a goal 3:24 into the game on an unassisted effort. Davenport got their second goal of the game in the 20
th minute by
Marc Anderson just moments after killing an Eagles power play. Anderson scored with 51 seconds on the clock, assisted by
Alex Hulford and E. Thompson.

Chris Corgan and
Ian Thompson scored within three minutes of each other in the second period to give Davenport a four goal lead. Corgan was assisted by
Adam Goudelock and I. Thompson was assisted by
Cory Bussing and
Joey Ogden.
-Davenport scored three more goals in the third period before Eastern Michigan found the net. Ogden and Cowan scored on unassisted efforts, then Cowan scored another goal but was assisted by Ogden and I. Thompson.
-Cowan led DU in goals with two.
-Ogden had two assists to lead DU.

Nate Ferris played the whole game in net and saved 25 of the 26 shots he faced.
