GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Davenport cheerleading team that competes at the STUNT level picked up three wins on Sunday at the STUNT Games hosted by Davenport at the DU Student Center. A packed house watched the Panthers breeze through their first two matches before battling to a win in their final match.

The first matchup against Michigan State started off strong and continued that way in a 21-5 win. Davenport won the first seven routines before the Spartans tied in the fourth routine of the second quarter. The third quarter saw DU win the first three routines before MSU tied in the fourth routine. The Panthers finished with a 9-2 edge in the fourth quarter of team routine.

The second matchup was abbreviated against the University of Michigan. Davenport won 12-1 as they did just two routines per quarter instead of the usual four quarters. The Wolverines tied in the second routine of the third quarter but that was all they could accomplish.

The final matchup against Alma College was a battle. The Panthers took a 4-2 lead after the first quarter of partner stunt. The second quarter of pyramids and tosses favored the Scots as they tied up the match at 6-6 going into halftime. The Scots led 9-8 after the third quarter and the Panthers responded in team routine. They tied or outscored in three routines for the 15-13 win.
