Davenport Steamrolls Madonna At Home 91-51

Nick Gamble secured a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport steamrolls over Madonna during the Panthers last regular season home game. Madonna only scored 16 points in the first half and the Crusaders never led during the entire game. Nick Gamble notched a double double with 12 assists and 11 points while Kevin Rich scored a game high 26 points on 10/17 shooting from the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams opened the game a little shaky shooting from the field as the first points weren't scored until just under two minutes into the game. With 13:49 remaining in the half Davenport went on an eight point run to create a 16-4 lead with 9:20 left on the clock. The Panthers defense was the story in the half as Madonna didn't score their 10th point until 16 minutes into the game. The Crusaders only scored 16 points in the half and shot 20% from the field as a team. Davenport shot 42% and assisted on 11 of their 16 made field goals.
 
The Panthers continued their dominance from the first half into the second half as their lead quickly escalated to 30 points just five minutes into the half. Rich went off in the half as he scored 15 points during only nine minutes of playing time. He was 3/6 from deep during that time. Khadim Dieng and Robbie Bramhill both go involved in the scoring category as they each put up eight points in the half. Dieng went 4/5 from the field while Bramhill went 2/4 from the three-point line.
 
The stat lines between the two teams were extremely different. The Panthers shot 53.7% from the field and the Crusaders shot 30.3%, DU had 26 assists on 36 made field goals and MU had seven assists on 20 made field goals, Davenport had 47 total rebounds compared to Madonna's 34. Lastly, DU hit 11 three-pointers while Madonna only made two during the game.
 
Rich led all scorers tonight with 26 points, he shot 5/10 from behind the arc and had five rebounds. Haines chipped in 12 points, four assists and four rebounds in 25 minutes of action. Gamble recorded a double double with 12 assists and 11 points, he also grabbed seven rebounds. Thomas Hood and Bramhill led the team in rebounding with seven a piece, Bramhill also led the team in steals with three.

The Panthers travel to cross-town rival Cornerstone University for a top ten match-up on Saturday. The game is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
