AVE MARIA, Mich. – Davenport bounced back in emphatic fashion as they defeated the eighth ranked team in the country 22-14. The Panthers had four players with three or more goals during the game and two girls with three or more assists.
Jessica Lemcke scored the opening goal of the game and led for the remainder of the game. Davenport improves to 1-1 on the season and return back home to Michigan after the two games in Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Davenport started the game off with back to back goals from senior Lemcke. After the Panthers took the 2-0 lead they held the lead for the remainder of the game, never letting Ave Maria tie or lead. The lead increased to four goals after DU scored three un-answered with just under 10 minutes played in the game. Ave Maria was able to squeak in some goals between DU scoring and chipped the lead down to two goals multiple times in the second part of the half. Taylor Ries had three goals in the first half.
The panthers scored the opening two goals of the second half and led by eight goals with 27:51 remaining in the game. Davenport took their biggest lead, nine goals, after
Hanna Bush scored two consecutive goals to make the score 20-11.
Brooke Knoll scored a goal with just 1:04 remaining, which was her game high sixth goal.
