GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport closed out this week in historic fashion. They won three games during the week, scoring 29 goals on Wednesday, beating undefeated Indiana Tech in overtime yesterday and steamrolled Madonna University today by 30 goals. The Panthers defeated the Crusaders 30-0 and set two school records in the process. The team scored the most goals in a single game and won by the largest margin of victory. Davenport is currently on a six-game win streak and show no signs of slowing down.

HOW IT HAPPENED
From the get go Davenport was in control of this game.
Ryann Deuel won the opening draw control and
Taylor Ries scored the initial goal of the game just 57 seconds in. The Panthers tallied 17 goals during the first period, while nine of those were assisted on. Davenport's defense was impenetrable as they let up zero goals during the period. Madonna had 15 turnovers during the period and only tallied one shot on goal.
In the second period, Davenport continued the offensive pressure and defensive intensity. The team added another 13 goals to their total and shut out the Crusaders for another 30 minutes. The Panthers dominated in every statistical category possible during this game. They outshot the Crusaders 49-4, only had 19 turnovers compared to 29 by Madonna, picked up 28 ground balls to the Crusaders 19 and won the draw control battle 25-6. Ries scored the record breaking 30th goal with only 36 seconds left in the game.
The team broke the program record for most goals scored in a game with 30. The previous record was 29, which was tied multiple times earlier in the season. Also the team broke the record for largest margin of victory with their 30-goal difference.
Tara Pluger had herself an historic game as well, scoring five goals and notching 10 assists. Her 10 assists are the most ever in a game and her 15 points is also a single-game record. She broke
Jessica Lemcke's record set just a few days ago of 14 points. The 10 assists broke
Brooke Knoll's record of seven set back in 2014. Pluger also has 100 assists in her career after the 10 she tallied today.
