This past weekend the Panther Men's Rugby Team traveled to Kansas for the College 7's Rugby Qualifier Championships. The Panthers went 2-0 in pool play and missed the first seed by a point to Ohio State University. In the championship knockout bracket, the Panthers took on Kansas State and beat them 24-5. The following game was against a tougher opponent who Davenport has faced before but with a different squad. The game was 5-5 at half and late in the second half American International College got a break-away down the sideline and got the final score of the game to make it 10-5. AIC went into the championship round to play Ohio State University and walked away with a $5,000 dollar prize and the championship which gives them a place in the Penn Mutual College Rugby Championship on NBC Sports. The Panthers took a lot away from this tournament and will be ready for the upcoming USA 7's National Tournament. Led by Captain Dom Bailey and Co-Captain
Brady Gent the team is a strong force and they look forward to the upcoming challenges ahead. The team will host Life University on Saturday, April 1 at 1 p.m. on campus at the DU Turf Field.
