Davenport Wins MIVA D2 Championship Title

DEKALB, Ill. - This weekend the Panthers headed to DeKalb, Illinois to participate in the MIVA Championships and for the second year in a row won the MIVA Conference Championship title. Davenport went undefeated in their five matches over the weekend, three on Saturday and two (a semi final and final) Sunday.
 
Not only did Davenport walk away with a conference title, two Panthers were placed on all conference teams. Nathanael Vander Meer was on first team All-GMMVC for the second year in a row and Sean Cox was added to second team All-GMMVC.
 
Davenport vs. DePaul: 27-25, 25-18
In their first match on Saturday the Panthers got a win against DePaul University. They won with 32 kills, eight errors, from 61 attempts, a .393 hitting percentage, 25 digs, and a total of four blocks.

Day number two started with a win against Hope College. The Panthers tallied 27 kills, 10 errors, 68 attempts, .250 hitting percentage, and 27 digs.

Davenport will finish their season in two weekends when they head to Kansas City, Mo. to play in the NCVF National Championships from April 13-15. The Panthers will compete against multiple teams from all over the nation in a three-day tournament.
