CALEDONIA, Mich. – Davenport gave up an early goal to the Huskies and made yet another comeback win. The Panthers scored two goals in the last 25 minutes of the game for their first ever GLIAC win. The women's soccer program is currently 1-0 in conference play and hold a five game win streak. Freshman
Madeleine Zayan has made the transition to the college game seem easy, leading the team in points (8) after seven games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got behind quickly in the first half, giving up a goal to the Huskies during the 17
th minute of play. Michigan Tech hung onto their lead for the remainder of the half, despite multiple shots on goal by Davenport. At halftime the Huskies goalie had six saves. The teams took a water break about 25 minutes into the first half, since temperatures were in the mid 90's during the game.
After consistently knocking on the door of scoring their first goal of the game DU finally succeeded during the 68

Alex Prout gather the ball and passed the ball into the box,
Imanie Richards then headed the ball to
Allison Luurtsema who one-timed the ball into the net. The goal was Luurtsema's second goal of the season and tied the game up at one goal a piece. The go ahead goal was scored by Zayan in the 82
nd minute and was assisted by
Alayna Hilgendorf. She sent a pass to Zayan, who took two dribbles and fired a left footed shot from the left win into the lower right part of the net. This was Zayan's fourth goal of the year.
Lorrin McCarty had two saves during the last eight minutes of play to help preserve the lead.
COACHES CORNER
"Today was a great test for our ladies to experience the tough competition that the GLIAC is known to have" said head coach
Chris Allen. "The ladies responded very well after the first half, with the effort and overall team performance it was a well deserved win".
UP NEXT
The team gets a day to rest up before the host Northern Michigan on Sunday. This will be the Panthers second GLIAC game of the season and has a start time of 12:00 p.m.
