BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport competed in day two of the Ferris State Invitational and finished the weekend 2-2. The Panthers went 1-1 on the day, defeating Northwest Missouri State 3-2 and falling to Upper Iowa 3-0. During the game vs. the Bearcats DU had five players record eight or more kills.
MATCH 1 (NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE)
Final Score: Davenport 3, Northwest Missouri State 2

HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 25-19, 16-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-11
-In the first set Davenport got two big runs to take a 16-10 lead.
Jessica Marvin finished off the set with a kill for the 25-19 win.
-Northwest Missouri State stepped it up in the second set and tied up the game 1-1.
-A couple four point runs early in the third set set up the Panthers to take a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set.
-After four sets of play the teams were tied 2-2, Davenport won the tie-breaking set 15-11 after they won four out of the last five points.
MATCH 2 (UPPER IOWA)
Final Score: Davenport 0, Upper Iowa 3

Records: Davenport 2-2, Upper Iowa 4-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 28-30, 20-25, 19-25
-An epic first set lasted multiple extra points before determining a winner. Davenport had the set in their hands, holding a 24-21 lead before giving up four straight points to Upper Iowa.
-The second set saw the Panthers neck and neck with Upper Iowa. The Peacocks won seven out of the last 10 points to take the win.
-Upper Iowa finished off the sweep with a six-point win in the third set.
