HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-16
-The first set belonged to the Flyers. Lewis got off to an early lead when they scored five straight points to take a 6-2 lead. Davenport played the Flyers even for the remainder of the set, but Lewis held on for the set win.
-In the second set the Panthers turned things around in a hurry. With the score 11-9 in the Flyers favor, Davenport seven of the next eight points to take a 16-12 lead and shift momentum DU's way. The Panthers continued the pressure and closed out the set with a service error by Lewis for the 25-18 win, tying up the score 1-1 after two sets.
-Again, Davenport was outplaying the Flyers during the third set. The Panthers took a 15-9 lead after a kill by Ashley VanderHorst, assisted by Sami White. Davenport didn't give up the lead down the stretch and a kill by Jenn Kay Vander Meer gave DU the set win and a 2-1 lead in sets.
-The Panthers were dominant in the final set, leaving no doubt that they were going to seal the deal. Davenport was huge at the net, getting blocks from Hayley Kreiger, Jessica Marvin, VanderHorst, Megan Herr and Vander Meer. The match-winning point belonged to Herr on a kill.
