HOW IT HAPPENED
-SET SCORES: 21-25, 21-25, 20-25
-After a three run stretch in the middle of the set Davenport took a 10-9 lead and was in the driving set for a bit. The Panthers led 17-15 after an attack error by Sarah Tabit, following the point the Cardinals went on a six-point run of their own to take a 21-17 lead. The run was finally halted by a service error from the Cardinals. Davenport got kills from Laura Bouwkamp and Nina Rudnitsky late, but couldn't string enough points together to erase the defecit.
-A big run in the middle of the second set by the Cardinals proved to be the difference. Davenport was able to cut the lead down to two points on multiple occasions towards the end of the set, but back to back points by the Cardinals at the end sealed the deal.
-Davenport never gave up throughout the match. With the score tied 10-10 in the third set the Cardinals won 11 of the next 16 points to build a 21-15 lead over Davenport. The Panthers had back to back points two different times down the stretch, but didn't get enough to erase the Cardinals lead. Saginaw Valley State took the third set by a score of 25-20.
